Tips Promoting Products as an Affiliate #4

Well, here we are at the final week of Barry’s Video Challenge  Too Sad

In this challenge, I’ve been showing a series of videos on ‘Tips Promoting Products as an Affiliate’ and if you haven’t already, you can following the links below to watch

Part I
Part II and
Part III

The tools I’ve been using over this past month to create these wonderful videos are:

Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 – writing the presentation.  Okay, I had a coupon and with this I got Microsoft 2010.  If you haven’t already got Microsoft Office, there is no need to go out and buy it, you can use OpenOffice.org, which is Free to download, or Google Docs to do your presentations.
CamStudio - for recording – Free
Windows Live Movie Maker – putting it all together into a movie like presentation, again Free download

Along with playing around with these programs myself, trying to figure out how to use them (sometimes manuals can be quite confusing), I’ve picked up some great tips from Barry’s PowerPoint and Ian’s Movie Making tutorials.   These two will cost you.  But don’t worry, you won’t need your credit-card, only your time to leave a nice comment Wink

Okay, press play for Part IV

Hope you enjoyed that and even perhaps found something helpful you could use.  Do let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment below.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time, bye for now

Tips Promoting Products as an Affiliate #3

Hello and thanks for stopping by. Here we are at the third week of Barry Wells Internet Marketing Video Challenge, and what a challenge it’s been.  I’ve not yet got around to all the participants but what I have seen so far, has been terrific.  Barry has a post here where he’s put up each challengers link and if you haven’t already, I highly recommend you take a look.

So, in this series I’ve been looking at ‘Tips Promoting Products as an Affiliate’ and here below is part three.  Time to press play …

I hope you enjoyed my presentation, again, thanks for watching and do let me know your thoughts by leaving your comments.

Until next week – Keep Smiling :-)
Julie

Tips Promoting Products as an Affiliate #2

Hello and here we are at video number 2 of Barry Wells’ An Internet Marketing Video Challenge and Everyone is Invited.  Before we start with part 2, I’d like to direct your attention for a moment to the topic we opened about ‘Landing Pages’ in part 1.

During the past week I came across a couple of posts which will emphasize the point I made and the importance of having ‘Landing Pages’.  One being a perfect example of a product review write-up on a blog post by Mr Wells himself and the results received from that post, you can read what Barry has to say here

And, Pauline Bennett has written a great article which details to you the whys and hows of using Squeeze Pages as your Landing Page.  (And she has a great little give-away there for you as well).

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know and prove a point, I don’t always waffle on for no purpose. ;-)

Okay, here’s the links I mentioned:  Adrienne Smith’s post, with some interesting statistics on video viewing and Steve King’s post showing a perfect example of a product video tour.

That’s it folks for this week, until then, do share this content using the social buttons below and let us know what you have to say by leaving your comment.

Bye for Now

Tips Promoting Products as an Affiliate #1

Well, here it is, the first video of a series of four for Barry Wells’ Leap Year Challenge he’s hosting – An Internet Marketing Video Challenge and Everyone is Invited.

I decided on the topic ‘Tips Promoting Products as an Affiliate’ as this ties in with a little site project I’m working on and it’s the things I’ve learnt along the way.

I did put some cute little graphs in, as it does take the plainness away and makes it a bit more interesting but for some reason my system then had problems saving the audio.  So, took them out.

I’ve put on video a power-point presentation I put together, the quality of the sound is good, only the volume is up and down.  The first and last slide is rather laud but you will need high volume for the ones in between – they’re a little quieter.  Oh, one of these days I’ll get it right. :-?

Thanks again for watching, do leave your comments and I hope to see you again next week.

The Network Discovery Channel – R & R Library

Barry “The Man” Wells put up a challenge I Am Showing You Mine But Will You Show Me Yours?  Those who accepted were to make a video and post it on their blog.  A week later Barry posted the links of all those who took part, which I did, and we were kindly asked to visit each blog, showing our support to each other.  So, off I went and Whow!  I mean Whow!

I take my hat off to every one of you.  This is in appreciation and a thank you to ‘Barry Wells’ and ‘The Challengers’ for all their great tips, tricks and ideas I have collected and created a one click link to The Network Discovery Channel’s Resource and Reference Library.

Below are the links, and a jotted note of what I learnt (very hard to keep it short) each opening a chapter to a wealth of information, of which you now, if you don’t already, have access to.  I may have added a “name in quotes” on some, that is for me, for my reference association – person to blog/info, (fills the holes in the head).

Adrienne Smith  “The Lady on a Mission”  LinkedIn, Adrienne’s video showed me simple ways to make your links stand out & to put LinkedIn’s available tools to good use.

Ian Ieba  “The Dark Horse”  And that folks, is where I’m going to leave you on this one.  If you want to see the light …. you’ve now got the switch.  I’d need a single post to briefly tell you what I’ve learnt from Ian.

Jacinta Dean  “The Aussie Sheila”  Twitter is no exception to being used for spammers.  Jacinta’s easy way to check up on and sort out your twitter followers and those you follow.

Mike’ll Fix it Shepherd   With Mike’s 5 Click Solution video, I fixed my 500 Error.  Nice one Mike, thank you.

Dee Ann Rice  It was too late for me, but Dee Ann could save you.  She will demonstrate two different ways of uploading videos to your blog using i) YouTube and ii) an FTP program.  And now I know, I did do it right – eventually.

Ed  “The Young One” Edwards Ebay niche store research expert.

Kathy Dobson  I found this post is in itself full of great tips.  Kathy’s video shows how easy it is to improve frame area around images, avoiding the crammed in look.

Stuart Turnbull   “The Arts Guy”  Research it, buy it, sell it – profit – put the kettle on.

Eamon Diamond  Putting creativity into video making with Camtasia + a good tip when entering codes on your blog post on html without them being stripped when switching back to visual.

Igor Griffiths   2nd lesson – Turn your phone OFF vibrate before recording!  Split testing, didn’t know, do now.  Igor shows how.

Craig Sowerby  “The War Room” Craig’s peace-time tactics to list building.

Robert Corrigan   Another great list building method – Giving it Away – Mad, or …

Randy “The Rambler” Smith  (and that came from himself) If you have your own products, Randy has a top software program to set-up an affiliates resource page.

Nick Lawless  “The Gold Digger”  Australian, gold digging, Lawless!  How far back have you gone on your family tree Nick?  You all know the history right?  Keyword research success, great lesson.

Mandy Allen  “The Blogging Blogger”  Adding an opt-in box with graphics to your sidebar widget, quick and easy.

Vance Sova   Beer Drinking with Androids!?  “The Meet-up” on screen now.

Michelle “Reloaded” Lyall  A video to inspire.  Great song.

Rick Byrd  Cloak it!  Why and How.

Nikki Stephens   “The Purple Witch”   Great stuff, set up all my email accounts in one, using googlemail.  Keeping them separated and organized by sorting them into folders.

Michele Welch   An additive to your social media marketing.  You name the day and time, Hootsuite will send your messages out.  Michele explain’s how to set it up.

David Taylor   Have your spam washed away from the source (psst, David’s going to be running a competition very soon & the prize is a copy of this software … shhh).  Just one thing, there are post reading instructions here: 1) read post up to the video, 2) watch video, take your notes and 3) read rest of post.

Dawn Kay  Add an audio plugin to your post, Dawn show’s how.  An audio to those wonderful encouraging notes from Sally would have been great.

That’s it from me for now.  If you haven’t already been there and see them – do it!   And let me know your thoughts.  If I have missed anyone from the challenge, please tell me – my notes are rather … na ya … less said the better.

Take Care Now
Julie ;-)

I Accepted the Challenge, Here is the Result

Na, seriously, it wasn’t quite that bad

This post is to honor Barry Wells’ challenge I Am Showing You Mine But Will You Show Me Yours?  Having no idea, not ever made one before, he thought by me accepting the challenge it would be ‘My Big Nudge’, to get started!

Making videos.OMG! :-?   There were moments there which really put my nerves to the test.  I found 1001 ways how not to do things.  But, do you know what, at the end when I found the way that did work, getting it all together really wasn’t difficult at all.  I couldn’t believe it afterwards, thinking ‘how stupid can someone get?’  And more than once!

Anyway, I got it together, uploaded to Youtubes and the results are here for you below.  There’s huuuuge room for improvement in the actual filming, but with practice those ruffles will soon iron themselves out.  The sound is something that quite bugs me though.  If anyone has any idea how to rid that humming, I’d really appreciate it.

What I have here in this short video is a Social Share Tool from Visibli.com which will link a personalized Engagement Bar to the top of a website you’ve shared through twitter or facebook.

I’d very much appreciate your thoughts – remembering now in your commenting, it was my first ever. :-)

Thanking You & Take Care
Julie
